That's an interesting and unconventional view, a warning light! Not a view matched by legislation, now or in the past as far as I know.

I do however agree that most reversing lights are useless to the point of being worthless, and it is sensible, even if not legal, to augment them. It's yet another area where the law is an ass and our lawmakers are so far removed from the real world to be a menace.

It is certainly interesting and often entertaining to reverse without a reversing light, many modern drivers seem to take it as a personal insult.

It’s a 21w standard bulb, same as a direction indicator or brake light, so I’m not sure how it could be construed to be anything other than an indication to other users that you are reversing.
