Superpro bushes
Anybody fitted Superpro bushes? Are they any good? Gwyn Lewis recommends them over OEM rubber. What effect do they have on the ride quality, do they give a firmer or softer ride?

I've gone the whole super pro hog on mine which is used on the farm, motorway, backroads and towing. I've always been a super pro fan (my other car was totally converted over 10 years ago), the Australian made bushes (Super Pro, Whiteline and Superflex) have always been the best IMO. I've seen them last upwards of 100k miles.

Comfort wise, I can't say they are any worse than OE, but it feels tighter and they are a dam sight easier to fit and replace if you ever needed to.

I'm slowly going through my 110 replacing all the bushes with Superpro, can't comment in how they perform as the vehicle is still not on the road, but I can vouch for the ease of fitting.... Thumbs Up

I fitted the Gwyn Lewis superpro and OME shocks to my 110 after 105k on all original. Handles much better. No regrets.

I took Gwyns advice during my own rebuild and went full Superpro throughout. I can also say it feels much tighter which I believe is in part due to the bushes. I also like the fact the can be replaced in the field much easier than the originals. Thumbs Up 1992 Defender 90 SW 200Tdi

I have them all round. No noticeable difference performance wise for me personally but hoping they last longer and should be easier to replace going forward > 110 XS Double Cab

I had superpro on the panhard rod only, for about 20 years. They lasted really well, and I had a few oul leaks which did not negatively effect the bushes.

The downside though is I found a lot of corrosion between the bush and the panhard rod eye. This is in a vehicle whose life was in a very dry climate. Where I had the steel sleeved bushes, like radius arms, after removing the old bushes, the bores were is perfect rust free condition. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Miffy and I absolutely swear by SuperPro bushes. She is now on to her second set. Love the feel of them, the longevity and the ease of fitting/replacing.

We fit Superpro bushes to all vehicle builds they are the best polyurethane bush kits available but the original OE bushes did offer the best ride handling and noise suppression. Unfortunatley since Defender production ceased JLR appear to be sourcing cheap aftermarket bushes for OE sales. We wouldnt recommend replacing the later TD5/TDCI Panhard rod bushes with anything other than the OE bushes as the Superpro bush is more flexible and offers less lateral axle location.
