Is it because he's giving it more beans... less weight... weight over rear driven wheels?
Narrow tyres would also be advantage on this terrain too?

the few synchros that went through orchard works had diff locks on them, std on a synchro?

Got back from morocco on tuesday - whilst there saw two iveco daily 4x4's with camper backs. Damn smart they looked too. We were riding so couldn't take pics but if you check out the iveco site you can see the flatbed versions there, which I assume the owners had bought and then put the camper backs on. Looked fantastic.
