Must be a bug somewhere. We need someone with the premium LEDs to try. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue |

I’ll check the wife’s 110 in the morning, her XS was supplied with the Premium LEDs due to the semiconductor shortage. 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

Hi jomara, did you ever check your wife’s car to find out how the side lights worked?
I’m interested in knowing if it’s all premium led’s or just a few that don’t work properly ( in my opinion). |

I have premium LEDs. I normally have them in Auto so the DRLs come on automatically, so I toggled to off, then toggled side lights on. Jumped out the car and rear lights are on. Hope that helps.... 22MY Defender 110 D300 S in Pangea Green and Contrast White Roof IG defender_japan "Hulk san" |

Cheers haymeister, thanks for the reply, can you tell me that when you drove off that they stayed on or did they revert back to auto drl’s. I can get my sidelights to work when stationary but they go off when I drive away and I’m left with just the front drl’s on and no rear taillight’s. For me to get rear taillight’s on I have to put the dipped headlights on.

Hi Dicky
Sorry totally forgot as she threw me out of the car for a few days as she was working from the office. Just checked and even with side lights manually selected they still default to auto every time I drive away.... 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon 1971 Bowler Tomcat 88 4.2 V8 Auto 2022 110 D250 XS Edition - Gone 2024 110 D250 X-Dynamic HSE |

Thanks jomara,
Looks like I’m going to have to live with it. Still think it’s a rubbish backwards step by LR. |

I have to admit I have added it to the list of niggles I have been compiling, there's nothing mentioned about the DRLs overriding the manually selected function in the manual

sometimes mine will remain on sidelights when I turn them on, other times they`ll go back to auto and just put the DRL`s on. It`s very odd 2015 90SW Heritage MY16, 2016 90SW XS MY16 (123rd b4 the last build) & RRS HSE MY15

Found out today whilst driving that, when the dipped headlights come on in auto you can turn then ( if the light conditions allow) select the sidelights only option, this turns off the headlights leaving just the sidelights on. Great Then the car decides you don’t need lights on and turns them off and reverts to drl’s. You can’t then have the sidelights ( only ) back on until the car says it’s dark enough, whereby it puts the dipped headlights on again.

DRLs and side lights are the same thing on premium and matrix vehicles, only difference is if the rear lights are on or not 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue
