Routine Maintenance Items

Is there any consensus on suppliers of routine maintenance items such as oil and fuel filters, centrifuge filter and air filters? The LR original parts are considerably more expensive than the after market suppliers such as Mahle, Proline, Mann, Bosch etc. Are they as good as the original? Should I stick with original for certain items and aftermarket for others? I know all filters are not created equal so I don't mind paying the extra for original if it is worth it. Thanks.

I would stick with genuine LR if you can afford it.
I’m not suggesting ‘some’ of the aftermarket are as good as, or even the same as, genuine LR but I prefer to use the genuine.

I haven’t found it too cost prohibitive to be honest when you consider overall running costs 👍

I agree with Screbble, genuine if you can. They usually aren’t obscenely expensive. Have had fit problems with aftermarket oil filters for example. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

There's no such thing as genuine LR filters. They don't make them, they buy them in and put them in a LR box. You're paying a premium for a LR box that you throw away. Save the cash and buy the OEM parts, same thing different box.

i use Mahle as a rule of thumb. Cooper for some air filters. LR dont make any filters. Cheers

Yes I fully understand that LR don’t manufacture the products themselves, and I have no issues with aftermarket products, but I’ve never really been confident that all OEM branded items are 100% OEM.

In terms of basic service items, and I appreciate that affordability is relevant, I’d rather stick with the ‘badged’ items.

Personal preference and opinion I suppose, which is what we all have.
