What a sad day for the world. HM was truly symbolic of everything great about this country, and her taste in cars was indeed exceptional. Charlie

20yrs ago I Delivered a parcel to a farm in the middle of rural Sussex. Parked in the corner was a dark bronze green LWB. Although rusting and messy Something told me it was kinda special and different.
It had tropical roof, gray elephant hide seats, flat front face and a Buick V8. I asked about it and if it was for sale. No the farmer told me NoWay. It’s way too special, it belonged to the Queen, her own personal Landrover. I do hope it’s still going. RIP. |

RIP Your Majesty. A sad time indeed. Not so much a closet LR fan, almost an ambassador for the brand (the ‘proper’ vehicles). She did a grand job - even more remarkable when you think she was never intended to do it and never really wanted to do it. A great lady. RIP. |
