Incontrol about to expire - will remote start stop working?
The only thing I use on Incontrol is the remote start function during the winter. However I'm not sure that's worth the £235 JLR want for another year. It's not even clear from their email whether remote start will stop working when my Incontrol subscription expires. (the reminder email just goes on about the secure tracker expiring - which doesn't bother me).

Anyone know if remote start will stop working when the Incontrol subscription expires?

Cheers

The tracker only lasts a year, unless you paid extra for three years at purchase. The remote subscription is three years as far as I know.

I renewed my tracker one as it is a stipulation of the insurance.

Thanks, that would be good news.

It's confusing that the JLR email is headed "The InControl Subscription on your Land Rover Defender is due to expire in 30 days" if it's only the tracker element which expires!

Be careful about stopping the subscription - the security side of the system needs to be fully subscribed to to maintain your insurance unless you want to install a 3rd party aftermarket system Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Good point - I will check - although I'd be surprised if the insurance premium would go up £235 (the cost of the annual subscription) without a tracker.

I never insured my one with a tracker, made very little difference to my premiums.

If you log on to your incontrol account it will show when each one’s due to expire. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

I didn't tell my insurer I had a tracker - tbh it didn't cross my mind - so they may not have allowed for it in my premium. I'll check.

I think it’s only compulsory for most insurers if the vehicle’s value exceeds £70k. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
