The motors are quite expensive. Have you actually checked it isn't turning/moving?

One of mine I thought had failed but the rod had just pushed through the rusty headlamp mounting ring.

Was sorted with a new ring.

Supposing it is the motor then they are the same as classic mini which seem slightly cheaper for some reason
