Check your brake servo is working and is being provided with a vacuum.
Before starting engine pump brake pedal, and each pump it should get higher, then whilst holding pedal down, start engine a pedal should fall. Also once after engine has stopped try pulling the supply pipe out of the servo, and it should hiss, as it should be holding a vacuum. Last edited by landy andy on 25th Aug 2022 8:02am. A bit back-to-front there @landy andy Pumping the pedal with the engine off should get the pedal harder/higher. If you then hold the pedal down and start the engine the servo assistance should pull the pedal down a bit. |

Corrosion round the back of the servo affecting vacuum is quite common on older vehicles
