I am taking a run down on Sunday. Should be good, especially with the Galloway Country Fair being on the same site.

Weather looks a bit miserable for the camping, but we are all packed and ready for the off tomorrow. We’ll probably do Defender Jam and the Country Fair on Saturday. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Got up here Friday night and been to DefenderJam/Galloway Country Fair today. Weather was pretty grim, but at least I know my tent doesn't leak.
The Defender Jam event itself wasn't really what I expected. There was a nice array of Defenders to look at in the fair, but there was no Defender parking.as such, not much in the way of parts or accessories. It just seemed like Galloway Country Fair had a some Landies on show, not that Defender Jam was an event in its own right. Still enjoyed it 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

Had a good day out yesterday, with the two shows together there was enough going on, my other half even managed some coat shopping. Highlight of the day was definitely the green laning, it was a bit strange being the only new Defender in the group, but I really enjoyed it, good introduction to some off road driving, and amazed what the car can do, I think I was the only one in the group with normal on road tyres, but lots of talent enhancing electronics to help me. Nice drive there and back aswell. Car is a bit muddy now, but that does seem to look right.

Having been to the last DefenderJam at Kelburn in '19, I knew it was small scale.
The combination with the Country Fair made it a really enjoyable day out (even 2 teenagers had a good day!). There is huge potential to build it into something good - could easily rival the likes of Billing for a full LR show. A few more autojumble or trader stall would have been good, still a good day nevertheless. We could not find the off road course?? |

For whatever reason I ended up in the general public car park, didn't know there was a Defender Jam one. That would explain why I never saw the laning. There were quite a few Defenders where I was so guess I wasn't the only one. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

The way the routes into the car parks on Sunday were set up the first car park you came to was the Land Rover parking, and the helpful marshal guessed that was where we wanted to go, and also explained about the green laning.
