AndrewS,
Not much consolation I know, but I've just had the transfer box and clutch replaced, both on back order. Had to wait 3 weeks. The Gaylander I had wasn't bad, but I wouldn't buy one. If all these parts, and no doubt some others are on back order, who on earth is ordering them. Not a good sign eh. Bosun. |

Well,
Its a pitty that the motor works is still not finished. Under the current economic situation, probably they made all the things just when are required (stock 0) maybe for this reason all of us are with pieces in back order. i dont mind the freelanders but am getting a little sick of them...our dealer have them and volvos - i wish a RRS, FFRR or a defender/disco was on offer.
Never mind - as for the back order of clutches. I do wonder about this, such a mission critical part - i do wonder if its something to do with supply chains. The production line takes priority on parts - remember and CAT arent as good as unipart on parts (which is why unipart do some other markets parts for LR and all of Jags) Either way - Easter shutdown will hamper...lots of clutches there though (maybe thats why mine is in the dealer car park! Sorry I should have explained that the pulley bearings are knackered. Dont know the exact figure but I think that over 20 suppliers have gone bust since January. I have had a FFRR since 13th Feb @ £50 a day. This issue with the supply of parts must be costing them a fortune. |

How 's the FFRR performing, has it been able to cope with the work you do with it.

I suspect it is the stupid 4x4 set up that LR have created, Lots of Torque + TC + poor quality components = failure. The drive shaft has been replaced and there are still drive problems, they now suspect the diff. Another FFRR has been delivered. |
