Waiting times and availability
When l ordered my 90 Commercial l was quoted 18 months delivery. The vehicle now has a build slot of October, that's 8 months early.

l was talking to another dealer today and they can supply one in October as well. Cancelled order maybe.
List price as well, no premium.

I wonder if the waiting times are coming down generally. lt may be that some people have cancelled due to the price increases (mine has gone up £4,000 since l ordered it) or other financial reasons such as the energy price crisis etc.

Good news! There will be cancellations as you say, but there are suggestions that the semiconductor supply issues may be easing slightly, so production rates can improve. Still a huge backlog though.

Go through your order line by line, item by item, with your sales person and get in writing confirmation of what will be supplied.

The franchises are not permitted to charge a premium for new cars.

Same with our Suzuki Jimny.

These were in short supply because Suzuki stopped importing them due to emissions (no hybrid version)

Dealers weren't allowed to sell new ones over list price so they simply registered them
and sold them for inflated prices.

Buyers (including me) contacted Suzuki but were told it was "up to the dealership"
and there was "nothing" Suzuki could do about it, although they didn't approve of the practice.

When I picked up mine, dealer said supply is catching up with demand but the one I actually ordered still has no build date. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue
