Awesome build! Really good looking Defender.
Man, I really wish they would offer a Diesel version here in the US (maybe someday). Enjoy it!! |

Haven't done a lot with the car lately, just a few little upgrades. I managed to get an original Land Rover roof-rack for a fantastic price, still looking to get a roof tent at some point so the rack will come in handy
![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Planning on doing some car camping in the near future so got a set of window shades for every window in the car, it's really quite dark in there with them all fitted ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge And apart from those it has been using the car a lot on green lane trips with George at Trails and Tracks ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge We also had a trip up to Kielder in the snow for a site visit to see if we can get the Kielder 4x4 Safari up and running, to raise some much needed money for our Mountain Rescue team, unfortunately it doesn't look like we will be able to start up anytime soon as there is still an enormous amount of devastation from the storms at the end of last year and the beginning of this year. As we tend to use tracks in the forest that nobody else uses it is a little bit down the list of tracks to clear for Forestry England ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Cheers Ian -------------------- 22MY Defender 110 D200 SE, Fuji White. To go along with the full set of window blinds I mentioned earlier I also got a set of Nakatanenga window vents for the new Defender from https://www.mudstuff.co.uk/ I had a chance to try them out this past weekend car camping and they worked brilliantly, no condensation and no bugs

Couple of little mods I eventually got around to on the back door, a couple of new power outlets and a switch so that you can open the door from the inside

Well I've had my Defender for a year and a couple of days and done just over 8000 miles in the year. Apart from one little fault when I first got it when the remote start wouldn't work it has been faultless and it could be one of the best Land Rovers I've ever had. It has averaged 27mpg over the year but that is mainly on local rural roads, it doesn't see a lot of motorway driving and it has been used off road a lot, I think the best I got from it was 35mpg on a trip up to Glasgow.

Fantastic thread. Great to see one getting used properly! It’s looking fantastic in his current state. You cannot beat those steel wheels! 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

Very very nice!
I second the comment on no steelies for the D300... strange decision to give different brakes given same engine, and exact same vehicle weight. Perhaps with greater torque to the wheels an upgraded system is needed for braking/torque vectoring. Makes me wonder those who have a D200 6 cylinder and map it to D300, whether their brakes would be up to the job... 22MY Defender 110 D300 S in Pangea Green and Contrast White Roof IG defender_japan "Hulk san" |

Yeah D200 has plenty pulling power, now I have the 250 you do notice a bit extra get up and go, but can’t say it’s worth the premium over the 200.
Steels just completely change the look for the better imo, still torn as to whether or not I fit them to my XS. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue |

I have had these on my, older, expedition vehicle. I needed to stop cold moist air entering the vehicle during the winter months, as this caused condensation inside the vehicle. First I used internal covers, then found this didn't work. I now take them out completely. Then re-inserting for better weather months. This has worked. Good Luck |
