Reviving this thread as I have a panel in the UK available to purchase. It's for a pre-Puma bodied truck, and has the LED's built in. Upholstered in Genuine Ripple Grey, (identical to the photo of the panel on the bench with the lights on). This will allow the fitting of 6 1/2" speaker in the rear.
Due to an issue with my shipping company, 2 were sent to a client in the UK, when it should have been one. It's available for purchase for ยฃ465 delivery included, no VAT. I'm also going to be posting this in the For Sale & Wanted section, but I thought I would mention it here also as there was interest from this thread. Feel free to post or PM if additional information is required. Click image to enlarge it's a Landrover thing... my renovation thread: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40792.html |

If youโre after a boost in sound and intent on only doing 1 thing, an amp and sub is the biggest thing you can do.
I got my sub and amp (just for the sub) first before doing anything else. Still had the alpine head unit. Sound improvement was amazing. Filled out massively. Since the I have put some 5.25โ focal in the rear, the usual 4โ focal components in the front, amped both of them and double din converted. This all made a difference, but nothing compared to the sub addition. All this other gear was more expensive than the sub and made nothing like the improvement Sub and amp is the way to go to start with. |

The Focal Ibus 2.1 is a good way to go. There aren't a lot of places to hide amps in Defenders, and on top of that you need the space for a sub woofer enclosure too. The Ibus is compact and self powered, easily fits under a rear seat of a 110 (have one in mine). Fills things in quite well with the AC 165's in the upper rear and PC 100's in front.
It does have it's limitations however, and if you have the space and time to go with a separate powered enclosure, it's worth doing. But upgrading the 5 1/4" rear speakers to 6 1/2" also provides a lot more balanced sound by adding some low end to the equation. It's all about trying to create the correct frequency balance along with the correct power. It's all about frequency + power + listening experience = budget + expectations it's a Landrover thing... my renovation thread: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40792.html |

Thanks Steve! Love to see a photo.
Not sure it the TV series "Expedition X" runs in the UK, it's on Discovery channel here. Season 1, episode 5, they have a nice grey 110 for the episode. When they had an interior shot, I couldn't help but notice one of my panels in the truck.
