How is it dysfunctional?
I'll try and measure the depth of my tank later on. |

It stops reading lower than 1/4 tank and I just think with the rest of the vehicle all in bits, it is a good time to change it up for something more modern.
That would be great though, thanks! 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top |

Take the sender out and with the arm in it's lowest position bend the arm so the float is lower.
What is happening is that the potentiometer is reaching the lowest point before the float has followed the liquid all the way to the bottom. My black 110" has this problem - 1/4 tank is around 10 litres wheras on my green one it's about 20 litres. No need to fiddle about buying expensive new level sensors and compatible gauges - the standard one works but needs adjusting. Put the £ saved into the tank in the form of fuel! Could even go as far as to drain the tank, put 20 litres in and use that as a guide to calibrate the sender / gauge on level ground to 1/4 tank. |
