I'll pretend it was a breeze and that I didn't brick myself. But then I'd be lying! At one point we had to do a vertical "step" that needed a bit of nifty movement while trying to ignore a 1000ft sheer drop. I think my pulse must have broken the 200 mark! Laurie -only fairly tame stuff in the snow in New Zealand and Scotland. Big climbs but very little danger of death! Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

Ive done that one a few times, summer and winter - often when the clouds are down and you cant see the drop! All good fun, not for people who arent used to it - but equally not difficult, unless there is ice and snow!!! Dogs done it as well Mike |

Early March is best, loads of well established ice and snow.
Probably done it a dozen times. ![]() |

Whilst I am not condoning what he has achieved, or perhaps his reasoning behind it, he will always be remembered as 'the guy who drove up Snowdon' for a very long time. We all do stupid things.... I was in Florida on detachment for four months in 1984 and stupidly decided after being bet $100 (it was only $1:06 to the £) to jump off a Brooks Bridge in Fort Walton Beach at 05:30 in the morning......I jumped. In the cold hard light of day when sober I realised that for about £90 it wasn't worth it and it was a very stupid and dangerous thing to do. Fortunately I wasn't around to account for my actions as we returned to the UK. Twenty years later I revisited the place and was still being introduced as 'the guy who jumped off Brooks Bridge and survived!' I was quite proud of the accolade and graciously accepted the drinks I was purchased as a result....... In time it will be a story to tell his grandchildren and one he himself will be probably quite proud of and as stated be remembered for...... His 15 minutes so to speak! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

More news about the bonehead of a driver
HERE
So bone head can not afford to travel to court BUT can afford to drive to Snowdon twice in September! Bone head could have been dealt with in the magistrates court but elected for trial at Crown court. WHY? More publicity for him? Because he wants to cost the state (i.e. the taxpayer, as the state has no money!) as much as possible?! IF so I hope the judge throws the book at him so to speak. Brendan |

Interesting to follow the case I reckon, though I'd be annoyed if he got more than your average thief !
