Roof top tent onto Cargobear Bars/Rack
Has anyone put a roof top tent onto a cargobear rack and how did you do it/how easy was it (I believe with it being such a low profile rack that access underneath to tighten things up will be interesting)?

I am picking the rack up in a few weeks but picked the tent up today. It's a Howling moon 1.4 tourer (in case that makes a difference).

I know there is a dedicated Cargo Bear RTT mount system and am sorely tempted but wondered if anyone had other ways of doing it. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

Cant you fit the tent first and then load tent and bars on as a single unit onto the roof?

That is one possible way.

The issue is that (I think) the roof rack is going to be a three bar affair from the front to just behind the middle of the roof with the tent picking up the rear bar of this and another bar at or towards the rear of the roof.

The issue with setting up in this fashion is that the tent will piggy back the end of the roof rack bar and wouldn't be practical to take off complete.

I will need to take the tent off at times for transporting kayaks for days out and maybe for family holidays if we take the ground tent.

My current thinking is that if I get the Mount system it may be possible to have temporary boards that fit in for when more rack and or access is required when the tent isn't mounted. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

Just wondered how you got on with mounting your roof tent on the cargo bear rack system? I am also considering doing the same.

Following this thread with interest, I have a cargo bear on my 110.
We built it in full then lifted onto the Landy.

I use the RTT mounting system. I have a Overzone tent that has a cover secured below the tent. I couldn't get my fingers into the space, so

I bought some spacer and use the existing C rails. If I did it again, I would get bigger spacers and remove the C rails. It seems very solid.
