It’s aluminium so can’t be galvanised.
Given how badly Puma-era vehicles suffer from corrosion on these while older vehicles don’t, would you not be better getting an older one and getting it rubbed back and repainted? |

I did think about that but I think the frames changes for the Puma. Not sure if a TD5 one would fit?

my puma has got a "restored" windscreen frame which I had sand blasted and repainted. IIRC the only difference was the lack of holes for the sun visors to screw into.

I have been living the same nightmare with JLR & Guy Salmon. Mines currency on frame # 4 or 5. The new frames only last a year before they bubble around the frame joints.
I’ve got a spare old stock frame if your interested. Not sure if it’s the same as the new Puma frame. More than welcome to have a look. |

Your Guy Salmon experience doesn’t bode well Mark. I bit the bullet and ordered a new one but thanks for the offer. The bodyshop guy is an the ball so hopefully he’ll give it more than a 1/10 micron of paint. I think Santorini Black is basically a quick rub with carbon paper.

I certainly wouldn’t recommend Guy Salmon LR, an independent that is enthusiastic for 4x4’s and Land Rovers is far far better as they are actually genuinely interested in the work they undertake. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON
