L663 D300 - solid 'thunk' from front end as braking to stop?
Anyone else have a sound or sensation that the gearbox is making a thud when pulling up?
It's not speed dependant, aka hard breaking it's just as you transition to stationary.

Sounds like a rough downshift to first but wanted to know if this is expected or suspicious before I bug my dealer.

Sounds like something mine suffered with, I also had 2wd warnings pop up, to fix this they done various updates one was for the transmission. It cured my 2wd warnings but also cured the thud you mention. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

Well, one trip to service centre later no insights, fault codes or more.
Can't reproduce on a cold drivetrain and now having to resort to sound recordings when it starts.

On the + side it got a wash Very Happy

The dealers in question, are they close to the M3?

A23.

That said it’s always when hot at the end of a 2H journey and I am not surprised on no reproduction.
We are on a ‘capture the sound, get it to the factory to diagnose’ plan which is as good as it gets.

Worse is working out the squeak it makes aft parked up like a hand cranked clothes line, no air suspension so very odd..

I have a similar issue on my Velar, had to keep going back until they reproduced it. It needed a complete new rear diff in the end!! So long as you get sorted whilst under warranty, just keep plugging away at them when convenient to you...

That one between the M3 and the M4 was the one I kept having to nag....
