I can’t remember the make, but I had to purchase a separate base. This had a leg which went down to the floor and strapped in with the seat belt. The baby / child seat then just dropped into this and latched in securely.
Congratulations by the way |

No base required. You just wrap the seatbelt around the clips. Takes literally seconds.
A base however does make things easier and some of the bases swivel to point at the door and the car seats just clip in. Congratulations. |

What did you replace it with? My daughter has out grown her maxi cosi and I'm trying to figure out what seat to get next. She is 14 months old.
I have seat belts but space is tight. |

Adam, firstly congrats.
Maxi-cosi is the brand we went with which has a 2 part seat and "base station" and purchased a second base from ebay to save moving one base between cars, as it was far far simpler than trying to make sure the seatbelts were all in the right place each time, especially when in the back of the 110 as you suddenly need to be really flexible to reach up and over from the door to clip in the belt on the other side of the carry seat. Plus you'll have so much other clutter thats suddenly become necessary to take on a 5 minute trip for a pint of milk, you'll start running out of brain space. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

Yeah the base station was secured with the seatbelt that remained fastened, and released the carrier using the locking mechanism on the base station. Could also be fixed using isofix.
From memory ours was the pebble, but being 7 years ago, its obsolete now, but the latest version seems similar https://www.maxi-cosi.co.uk/car-seats/pebb...ch_id=5517 Be worth popping down to halfords to look at the options I guess to see what best suits you, as they used to have a good display range 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

I fitted EXMOOR TRIM versions of these to the second row of our 110 200 tdi many years ago when our girls were young. Easily fitted and good support. Will put up photos if you want. Get a baby seat that is easy to carry. Walk around the shop with it, with some weight in it. Defenders are very good for putting baby seats in/out of owing to the height of the seats. You don't have to bend your back as in a traditioal car. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

i cannot help you with advice on the baby chairs, but i can pass this on to you, from someone who became a brother at 16, for the 1st time 20 years ago. They do grow up very quickly, before you very eyes. I treated my kid sister as a daughter, rather than a sister. one of pal's said the best thing you ever do is go into their world, look a fool etc. Because at the end of the day in 50 years time, they could be wiping your arse. He has 9 children. I passed my times etc and what my pal said, to another pal of mine 10 years ago, when he was in the same boat as you. His daughter now is the same age as my sister was back then. He said to me you are right in every way about them growing up fast Anyway its not much but hope it helps a little Also congrats Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

You can secure the seat with just a seatbelt. My daughter often traveled in my series IIa. Our main car had the isofix base (that can also take a belt handy when the car is telling you there’s a passenger not belted up )but for the few times she traveled in the Landrover just using the belt made sense.
Click image to enlarge Once she got bigger we got 2 separate seats. One for her car and all that and then one with a decent belt fix for the Landrover Click image to enlarge Now she’s 6 and we use a backed booster but one with a really slim back so she’s not pushed right forwards into the rear of the passenger seat in the 110 or into the gear stick in the centre of the IIa Click image to enlarge |

Thank you all.
I have used the seat belt only pebble for both daughters. Eldest is now 3.5 and is in a front facing britax seat in the middle of the Puma XS rear set of three seats. I am looking for the slimest car seat for a 1+ year old for my youngest as she now fits in the Pebble, and will have to sit behind me so tight fit even for little legs. I'll go to Halfords, try a load of options and report back |
