might be a bit of a sadly, due to the age of the car, i seen 17 year olds in the past unable to get insurances on cars that are older than them selves, or its cost more than a bomb. My sister ran a quote on the parents 200 tdi which is on a 93 plate, and she is 20 coming up. That was going to cost her 5k Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

we found admiral multi car was good if you can do with another in the family. Also try variations of parents on the policy as named drivers, can make a huge difference 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6

Both of my kids were on the Defender pre and post test with NFU who were excellent for 5 years and then lost the plot. May be back in the game.

There are some smaller tricks that sometimes work;
If you get basic breakdown cover then use the same company to provide insurance a 10% discount may be applied (covering or exceeding the cost of the breakdown cover) - worked with the AA I don't know if "pass plus" scheme is still running, but additional tuition/mentoring is often a discount by insurers Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) offer advanced driving test (may need a few years of experience) can gain a 5% discount Zaid-M www.DefencePhotos.com 2014 Defender 110 Utility, 2.2 Puma, Indus Silver Not just transport more like a religion |
