Genuine v Aftermarket Headliner
Hello everyone
I am considering installed an Alacantara headliner and was wondering what peoples thoughts on the genuine v aftermarket ones are?

I have read about the OEM ones sagging after sometime

Iโ€™ve got a Masai one, been in for a couple of years now and like new. Itโ€™s stiffer than the OEM and I think a different construction as well meaning it should resist sagging. Have a look at their website for actual details.

Yes and yes. If your planning in doing it yourself, you might as well fit sound deadening and insulation while the roof is accessible.

Itโ€™s good time do the roof with closed cell foam.

This is the stuff, itโ€™s brilliant it used to be a nightmare on cold mornings on the farm with ice on the ceiling.

Iโ€™ve always been happy with La Salle items Iโ€™ve bought.

Regards headlinings, Iโ€™ve heard they are a lot more rigid and thus, far, far less prone to sagging over time. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Looks neat. Thumbs Up Being Fibreglass is a lot more rigid and wonโ€™t get the sag like the genuine one is prone to. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Another option to consider is Ian @ IRB (again). I got mine from him. He has access to the same materials used by JLR so it's as close to genuine as you can get without the price tag.

I've had mine a few years now but from memory it was the cheapest I could find on the web. He sometimes has some in stock otherwise he gets them made up to order.
