Towing using remote lights
Does anyone know how to tell the car it is towing when using remote led lights?

Surely if the lights are hard wired the system will pick them up through the power socket? All the ND’s lights are already LED and if you have the factory towing system there is a trailer light testing switch in the boot.

Bottom left button is light testing button, bottom right button is to deploy the deployable tow hook

They are operated with a transmitter plugged into the car socket with no wires to provide any resistance to the cars system to say that there is anything plugged in. I assume that that is the problem.

Is that the towing electrics socket or the 12v socket in the boot it is plugged into? Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

The towing socket. I did not get any internal buttons on mine for some reason. I have the multi height bracket tow hitch option.

Did you find any solution for this? I just installed the multi height tow bar to the car but there is nothing appear on the menu and there is no voltage coming from the pins.

If you’ve installed a towbar you’ll need to have the car’s system programmed to tell it one is fitted, otherwise none of the towing menu options will appear and the towbar control module (which you should have fitted along with the towbar itself) will not wake up and start doing what it is supposed to do.

Thanks for the response.

The dealer installed the tow bar. But when they programmed the system, the car gives warning about the tow bar and the back parking sensors stop working even if the trailer is not connected. After the third visit from the dealer, they fixed the sensors but there is no voltage again. Just to be sure, there should be some options in the menu or the camera about towing, right? Because my dealer said that your car doesn't have an option for that.

I'm losing my mind and can't describe the dealer what the problem is. They always blame out the trailer but there is no voltage or any sign the car has a towing software installed.

If anyone has the multi height tow bar, can you send me any picture so I can show the dealer they are wrong.

Whatever type of towbar you have, there should be the trailer option in the menu screen as that is where you set up calibration for the assistance lines on the cameras etc.

When you plug a trailer in the trailer icon should also appear on the side of the screen, above the camera icon.

The total costs is around 2200 Pounds. But the taxes are very high in Turkey. So it can cost less for you.
