The pin hitch is branded Ringfeder and it came from a military surplus jumble (probably at the War & Peace Show). I've had a quick look online and not found any from that manufacturer, but there are several that look similar here:

Galv weathers in nicely but it takes a year or two.
Really you should buy another and stick it at the bottom of the garden so it is ready for next time. I just had my previous bumper nicely aged when I had a bump that trashed it so was back to square one with a sparkly new shiny one.... |

May I ask where you got the stainless steel brackets from? |

I have hot dipped a lot of parts for my restoration. I can get a nice spangle in just a couple of seconds by a light brush of diluted hydrochloric (muratic) acid. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for a pattern bumper that I purchased ready galvanized 😩 From some reading, the lead content within the zinc bath has a high influence on how the spangle is formed when it ages. I suspect that the bumper I purchased was dipped in purer zinc 😩 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Thanks again for all advice on replacing front bumper. I decided to go for a galv one and have fitted it unpainted at the moment. I know it will dull down and become grey-ish similar to my Ifor Williams trailer, but I could always paint later if I felt it necessary. Because my Landy is light silver I don't think it looks too out of place? Also have replaced the bulkhead hinges with stainless steel ones (the originals were very corroded although Landy only a 2011 model). The original bumper was in a very poor state, despite the Landy had been well looked after and pressure washed regularly. See attached photos. Jim

Bumper looks great, but… it makes your light surrounds and grille look like they could do with a fresh coat of paint!! Once you start!

Galvanized look good on silver Defender colour coded for free
Actually paint adheres better to weathered zinc if you decide to paint in the future. Saves you Twash 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Good choice for the bumper. Are those lamp guards hinged at the bottom? 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

Yes - hinged at bottom, but they are a bit of a pain. I bought the Landy from a main dealer back in 2012 as a 9 month old ex demo vehicle. They had fitted some extras - the most useful being the cold climate pack which included heated seats and heated windscreen - also lamp guards front & rear. Was never a great fan of them and I have a problem in removing the n/s one to replace the rotten headlamp bezel with a stainless steel one (the o/s one was not problem to replace). Issue is that of the top 2 screws that hold the guard, the L/H one will not unscrew in that the captured nut/threaded assembly is just revolving with the screw. It is in the most awkward place to access internally - you would need the arms of an octopus! Don't want to resort to the angle grinder or drill out the screw head just yet! Just one job on the list!
