Ca I have some advice please.
I have worn out two c lutches on my 1962 Series 2a 88" in four thousand miles. This time I have no drive at all except to use Low box four wheel drive and even then it's only useful to move it back and fro. Can someone recommend which make of clutch I should buy and should I consider a heavy duty clutch and put up with a heavy clutch pedal. The details are as follows : 1962 Series 2a 88" converted to ex Discovery 200tdi engine. Original Series gearbox but using a Series 3 bellhousing. The last clutch was a *****art I suspect and I wore it out trying to pull a Nissan Leaf out of a ditch. They're heavy, believe me. Thank you all. |

I think there are different rod lengths, the rod that goes between the clutch fork and the slave cylinder. Perhaps you are having some load on the fork / thrust bearing / and pressure plate causing the clutch to slip.
I would remove the slave cylinder and check that there is some play on the fork (that you can push it back and forward a few mm) and when installing the slave you can push it home and is seated by hand and no need to use the screws to pull it in. Nissan Leafs are heavy, but I pulled a 5ton truck out of a ditch with my ex Series 3 and was still fine when I sold it. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

it's been a good while since i converted my Series 3 with a 200tdi, but I've never had to revisit the clutch.
I just followed the advice of (and much of the parts supplied by) Steve Parkers. https://www.steveparkers.com/conversions/2...nd-rovers/ |
