Looks like I was wrong , if you check the fitting instructions it looks like you have to drill into part of the sill for the front ones, I only watched him install the rear ones
Fitting instructions are here http://accessories-instructions.landrover....r/G2409773 http://accessories-instructions.landrover....r/G2409774 Cheers Ian -------------------- 22MY Defender 110 D200 SE, Fuji White. Kielder 4x4 Safari Instagram @defender_v8 |

Looks fantastic!! When I first saw the V8 exhausts, I thought they'd look better with mudflaps. Your photos confirm it for me. James

Hello Nick, from Aussie, the land of the V8.
LOVE your V8 90, particularly the exhausts. The V8 has been released in Aussie, but at a fairly astronomical price, $203K + on road costs, registration & stamp duty etc, + whatever options are specified. But, whatever the costs, I'm absolutely sure it's worth every cent. Congratulations, Pickles. |

Thanks for the comments guys!
Really liking it as I get to know it. Did have to fix a rattle at the back though. The flap that covers the emergency triangle was a little loose so added a few adhesive felt strips, same as they use in the factory it seems. So far so good. First motorway trip today to Devon. Will be playing with the ACC as I haven't had that in a car before now, only standard cruise control. |

Only to Devon this time, but between the first two tank fills it was 241 miles at 20.1mpg, actually a little better than I was expecting. Most of that was motorway cruising and when possible in the 70's mph. I'm a believer in running in so very light throttle at the moment, not using ACC/CC up the steeper inclines, etc. Still only 450 miles on the clock but later this month will be doing a trip to Austrian Alps.

Thanks for your reply, that’s not bad at all actually! That won’t be that far off the p400 or even p300, I imagine when your right foot gets heavier it will be a different story.
Am I understanding you correctly, are you saying that from empty the tank only have a range of 240 miles ? |

No, currently a full tank shows a range of about 350 miles. To get that first consumption calculation I ignored the first full tank, as there was a lot of engine running on tickover during the handover process etc, but then took the mileage at the next top up back to full and again at the next top up. That was the 241 miles between fills that were not complete tank fills from empty. Hope that makes sense? Rather than rely on the car's computer I feel that taking mileages at each fill gives a more accurate figure. I use Fuelly to record the data so that will grow over time to give an average consumption with a mix of journey types and distances.

I have placed an order for one, probably an 18 month wait ? I figure the higher running costs are a good enough trade off against the smile/feel good factor.
Currently in a D240. Does the manual actually advise you to run it in ? |

Might get less than 18 months as supply chain eases, maybe…..
