If it helps you bodstruck, i have a spare 300 Tdi rear prop shaft i could measure to see if it's the same as one of yours ? 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

That is very kind, thank you. I think a 300 is a different length anyway isn't it?
I have ordered a new ftc3245 to replace my broken one anyway. Just curious as to why it may be a different length. |

1045 will fit on the drum brake one but is too long to fit on the one with discs. I did try to fit one and even fully closed it was a good 10/15mm too long to clear the nut on the diff flange. The one I removed was an FTC3245 which is 1015. Odd. |

That is indeed odd. I would have thought that all Salisburies would take the same prop shaft length for a given engine setup. On a 200, gearbox mount brackets are slotted, but at most can move 10mm or so? Engine mounts are fixed though.
