Which aftermarket intercooler?
Hi all,

I'm planning to buy an aftermarket uprated intercooler for my TD5 but before i drop the cash on an Allisport one i wanted to check if there are better/cheaper alternatives? £500+ is a fair bit of cash for what it is so i wanted to make sure i was making the right choice.

Once the intercooler is purchased and fitted i'll then be looking to get the vehicle stage2 remapped.

Thanks in advance

We have AlliSport intercoolers in the Td5 and TDCi. I’d go back to AlliSport if ever I needed another one. Charlie

I’m tempted to get the remap from Allisport as they’re 25minutes from me.

However they don’t have a rolling road 🤷‍♂️

So how do those without a rolling road tune the remap specifically for my car?

I just put an airtech on my 300tdi, great quality, great, simple fitting, seems to have made a difference. It was slightly cheaper than Allisport and was immediately available.

Try Google searching, I found it via B7 motorsport, which wouldn’t come up just in their website, it was strange 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6

I've just bought the Serck after a bit of research for £400 (paddock) as what I felt was a decent option without breaking the bank plenty of people seem very pleased with theirs. I'm yet to fit it but impressed with quality

Got the alive intercooler along with one of their remaps at the end of last year. Would highly recommend.

I took a punt on Ebay... and got one from DCP Tuning for just £50... slightly larger than standard... but I was limited due to auto oil cooler.

Stage 2 tune... pulls very well, good acceleration... so intercooler is doing its job... tuner (storm agent) actually commented that is was a good intercooler.

DCP unit build quality is good, sound and tidy welds... not too rough on the inside, as far as I could see.

I couldn't afford the Allisport version at the time... and that is what I will use to replace this cheap one... they make one to suit the auto oil cooler/ limited space.[/b]
