Hello hoover
Can't add much... P0100 is indeed the MAF... and will (should) reset itself after around 6 engine cycles (or a forced reset). Click image to enlarge MAF Sensor Cleaned or Swapped for New and NO further P0100 Fault Codes would indicate a fix but are you getting a repeated P0100 Fault Code... What's the other Fault Code... Hi so the error started after long drive.
The error is now P0100 MAF Permanent Modulation/pulse width signal frequency is too low. The other error that Im pretty sure has always been there is ECU Instrament pack Code U3000 System internal failure Calibration/parameter memory failure. The car has a stage one remap and does the chugga chugga when its switched off. No performance issues, but the EML keeps coming back on after reset, starting run for a bit, switched off, then when I start it again the MIL light comes back on. Take note of the codes, then clear them.
Do they both come back at once or just one? Is the MAF a Genuine / OEM correct part and relatively new and clean? The ECU data sounds like specifications set in the tune is outside of allowable parameters so something isn’t right there. Did it start relatively soon after the time or have you had it a while? Regards the MAF some people have had nuisance codes caused simply by having a RAI or Snorkel. I haven’t had this with mine but some have. Can you put it back to factory tune? If so, go with that and then you maybe able to tell if it’s a software map issue or hardware issue. If you need help I’d contact the top two tuners that are most used BAS or Alive and ask advice. If the MAF is new then it should be fine, but if isn’t I’d try a new one. Also though repeating myself all the time on here, check battery terminals are tightand main grounding points are clean, and secure. The grounding points, if they are bad can cause a plethora of bizarre issues with the electrics. Hope some of the suggestions help. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Hi gents thank you for your assistance.
The vehicle has an Alive remap, I changed the MAF for a genuine one. However as part of that they fit an oil soaked pipercross filter and the MAF in it was absolutely caked in oil and filth, replaced that for a paper unit while I was at it and cleaned all the oil from the pipes, also cleaned the MAP sensor. Turns out the problem was a blown fuse! One of the engine management fuses ,had blown, the moment I replaced it and reset the error and restarted it, I could see in live data there was no error, also it brought up a load of old errors that were not showing before. Took it for a drive, switched it on an off a few times, checked DTC's nothing logged, hopefully thats it! Good news is at least I took the harness apart, checked it and reassembled it, with no kinks, tight spots and all the factory rubbing chafing points, removed. Good news, mine is Alives too. I’ve never had a problem at all.
I agree, I’m no fan of oiled filters due to the filter oil migration and contamination from it down the line such as the MAF. I’ve always used Genuine LR standard air filters. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |
