This is not a Td5 dash but my MudStuff console. I used two single DIN blanking plates and cut switch holes in them. Maybe a way to do that in a Td5 console???
Good luck. Click image to enlarge I’ve just finished the initial design I’ve chosen to put a cubby hole in this one, there’s still some work needs doing once I print the prototype Opinions welcome |

That looks great! At one point during my dash build I had the lower panel on mine as a cubby spot as well. Great idea.

I like the way the radio slot is recessed. What makes aftermarket radios look aftermarket in my opinion is that they stick out from the mounting surface. Recessing the whole mounting slot should make it look a lot more 'normal'.
Interesting thread. I just purchased a stock face (Britpart I believe). Really too expensive for what it is. My dash had been given the Middle East treatment meaning that all mounting tabs were broken and the face was 'glued in place'. The wiring spaghetti mess was a fire hazard also. Slowly working on getting everything back to fitting properly then will start looking at upgrades.. |

I will keep you all posted as the prototype develops (should have a picture of this installed soon), this all started because I wanted to keep the dash as OEM as possible and no one offers anything close
im also working on a plug and play lcd gauge cluster for TD5 and a rear view mirror mount for camera mirrors you can get on amazon so will throw new threads for them when I am closer to having them ready[/quote] |

Apologies for my initial reply, I hadn't read the post fully.
Really interested to see what you come up with. Are you thinking of making any other parts, it must be great to have that sort or capability! |
