For sale - Patriot ACC-LB-DEF-PCB Defender Light Mounting Bar, mounting bar for lights over the windscreen made by Patriot of roof rack fame. This uses the same technology and some common parts with the racks and is a very well-engineered (and expensive) thing of engineering beauty, It is unused but scruffy from storage and needs a clean-up, it also has deposits of what appears to be limescale which do clean off with elbow grease. Priced to sell and cheap enough to allow blasting and re-powder-coating if you want, or just blast and have as plain aluminium. Complete with mounting clamps (which are not shown in the photo and are in pristine unused condition). The bars are painfully expensive new (see here for example).
£50, collection only from Poole/Wimborne area of Dorset. Click image to enlarge |

I hope all the parts you are selling are not a sign that you are about to sell your defender, your input on this forum is much appreciated. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS, I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

Aw, that's a nice thing to say, thank you!
I have no plans to sell my Defender, but like I suspect many people who've been into Landrovers for a long time (its 45 years since I bought my first now) I have been busily collecting parts, tools, and other useful things ever since. The unexpected passing of my mother at the end of 2020 and the need to clear her house for sale has given me a storage problem, mainly because, bless her, she let me fill her garage, loft, and other spaces with Landrover parts. Now I have a pressing need to rationalize ruthlessly, something which really doesn't come easily to me. Having said that there is no point keeping parts I'm never going to use. So I'm afraid you'll have to put up with me a while longer. |

Hi, I doubt very much that you’ll struggle to sell this bar, but if you do and you decide to go down the postage route (at buyers expense obviously ) can I have first dibs please

You're the first to show an interest! My reluctance to post is solely due to the fact it is bulky and will be difficult to ship without the risk of damage. If we can figure out a safe way to get it to you (perhaps meet halfway for a modest number of diesel vouchers) I'd be happy.

That might be an option, but obviously my first choice would be parcelforce or something similar mainly due to time constraints, it’s a real busy time at work and getting time off is difficult.

I'd cheerfully take this off you at the asking price, although I'm also a little bit away from you (I'm near Gatwick), so logistics are tricky and I just haven't got a day spare to come and get it.
It's a genuine offer, but in the interests of the forum: I've bought a few bulky delicate items before (car doors, a roof panel for a lancia delta etc etc) that really didn't work for traditional shipping or fit on a pallet. I used 'man with a van' type independent shippers, and these have been really good and quite reasonable. Especially if you're flexible on timing. thought I'd share this, in case it helps here, I certainly don't think 'normal' shipping will help much here. Typically you don't have to package the items either. If that doesn't work out, give me a.shout Mr wolf, and I'll see what I could get it collected for, and might just take it off you. For the avoidance of doubt, I'm not queue jumping here, I genuinely hope the shipping tip helps the existing sale negotiations. |

I've looked at the usual online shippers and unfortunately the odd shape of this coupled with the width means that most "normal" shippers don't want to know.
I still find it hard to believe that nobody wants this badly enough collect it - these are around £220 new so this is less than quarter of the price of a new one! I'd much rather a forum member benefitted from it than some oik gets it on ebay. I am prepared to discuss meeting a buyer part-way for a handover - I'll travel up to 50 miles in any direction from Poole (except south) for an extra £25 (which won't quite cover the fuel for a 100 mile round trip now). I can't make it more attractive than that. So last change before the dreaded Bay of E - any takers? |

Hi Blackwolf,
I'm up in Scotland but travelling down to Brighton area for this week and would dearly like your bar. My Landy is getting a pop top at Tuff trek so I may be able to pick it up if its still for sale? PM me? Cheers Mark 2004 TD5 2004 Discovery 3 |

If you can detour to the Poole area you'd be most welcome to buy it.
