The Cobra box is most likely just an extra immobiliser.

Thanks. Would the AS10 be disabled when they fitted the Cobra? What I’m trying to get to is should I focus on getting the Cobra sorted and assume the AS10 is obsolete? Thanks

No idea. You’ll have to all Time Team on it and do an investigation.

All Defenders shipped with 10AS’sThere are two versions, one simple and an ‘enhanced’ version with drivers for central door locking, battery back up option for alarm etc.
If you want an alarm, you can order the fobs online and activate the alarm and immobiliser functions of the 10AS. If you want CDL, you can buy the upgraded unit and swap out with yours and fit CDL units in the doors. There’s also an interior volumetric sensor you can too if you wanted. For your Cobra unit, if you can’t find it I assume the main unit has been removed, however, you could trace back from siren and see if it’s connected to anything. Thanks for the info. I traced it back to the wiring at the AS10 unit and, having Googled the model of Cobra, found that it doesn't have a separate control unit; everything is build in to the siren (my fault for assuming it would have one).
Looks as though both are wired up so will order a new Cobra fob and see about coding it. Don't have Nanocom for checking the AS10 but will give my Launch diagnostics a go and see if I can see anything with it. |
