James Baroud roof tent
Was considering this myself but a roof tent is not for me right now.

Nearly new, he will post for £98 and was originally asking £1250 which seems like a good price

Did get it in the end? It did look like a bargain. Very Happy

I've been looking at buying a soft shell roof tent and I found https://tentandtrail.com, they look really good for the spec and price. Have you heard of them?

"This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing"

An ebay member who's only been registered a few weeks but already has managed to pick up 2 negative feedbacks and has made their feedback comments private.

Yes, I saw that message but thought it might be code for 'agreed a price off ebay to avoid fees!' Laughing

A lot of roof tent sellers are now selling Alibaba stuff they import and add their own badges to.

Have a shufty here: https://www.alibaba.com/premium/rooftop_te...xwQAvD_BwE

Yeah, I guessed that but there seems to be quite a bit of risk and hidden expense with buying off Alibaba, shipping, VAT, import duties, etc. Seems better to buy from a company that provides a warranty and will deal with any issues?

Have you bought from Alibaba?

I wasn't suggesting buying off Alibaba as the prices they quote are typically for bulk purchases.
Just pointing out that a number of the roof tent sellers that have popped up, particularly since lockdown are reselling stuff from this route. Nothing wrong with that however.
I do have friends who are buying other goods form Alibaba in bulk and reselling them and it seems to be working.

And yet I'm now sat here wondering why I would pay £3000 to some of these dealers for the aluminium rooftop tents if they're a dropshipper selling a £480 AliBaba product. Even with import duties and added complications, that's a whole lotta money to save and it seems to me that apart from a little more effort the real downside is just there's no UK body to provide you with a guarantee?
