Have you tried ebay, can't believe it wouldn't sell at more than you're asking here...

I haven't tried evilbay. Thought this was probably the best place. I guess the old style set up just isn't fashionable enough these days.
If it comes to it I'll keep the ally chequer plate and weigh the steel in. One way or the other it needs to be gone soon. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper. Wide Track Sankey- In bits- Gone to a new home M0XQS |

Can’t believe that nobody has bought this. Had mine for over 20 years and still good as new. If I didn’t already have one I’d buy it. In a different league to fancy aluminium racks. Here’s a picture of mine on my 110 carrying two Brownchurch Roof Tents and two heavy wooden storage crates full of gear, thumping along a corrugated road on the way to Capetown from England - 20 years ago. And I’ve still got that Defender and Rack - used daily.

I cant believe I am asking (resisted temptation so far). What is it like to live with as far as wind noise is concerned?
I have a LR tubular rack (mid 90's version) which is not noisy but getting old (typical plastic coated finish rusting underneath). My only experience of the steel frame rack (not brownchurch) was probably 25 years ago on a 110 td. It was very noisy I as i recall even at 50 mph. My 110 and I are happy to travel at 70 on a motorway so wonder what it is like to live with? Thanks 2010 XS USW 1957 Series One 88 diesel 1958 Series One 88 4x2 |

I never really noticed any noise from the rack itself, but I do get a bit of whistling from the various breather tubes running up the front support. I should relocate them to the near side but I’ve got used to it now, and would probably miss it if it wasn’t there. Drink Coffee, Talk to Strangers and Take Photos.

I have to agree that I have never noticed the wind noise from it even with the number plate and light mounted on it. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

You don’t ever come Cornwall way do you? Would take it off your hands but don’t venture up your way much.
