Windscreen chip on heated windscreen
Damn and blast... a small chip right dead centre of the windscreen when I was on the motorway.
Anyone been as unlucky? Quotes on cost and time on a windscreen replacement? I'm assuming parts are hard to come by these days... The chip is smaller than a 1p piece and hasn't spread but probably to be better safe than sorry. 22MY Defender 110 D300 S in Pangea Green and Contrast White Roof

If you get the chip repaired asap, perhaps you can save the windscreen. 110 SE D200 MY21 Tasman blue

I got a small crack in mine after only a week of having it. The insurance company got Autoglass out to fix it. They managed to turn the small crack into a crack right across the screen from right to left. Good skills.
Autoglass then spent over a month trying to source a replacement screen but couldn't. Land Rover had one in stock for immediate use but the insurance company refused to pay for it and claimed that their supplier could get one for £100 - but they couldn't give me a date for when it would be available.
In the end, I just chose to pay the dealer to fit the genuine part and move on.
Moral of the story? Don't be a tight-wad. Pay the extra for decent insurance.

Very crappy service from the insurance! Did they provide a hire car for the period when your Def was off the road and legally unroadworthy due to the crack? I'll bet not.

I must have at least half a dozen small chips in my screen. I have done 24,000 miles though so to be expected I guess. I’m just waiting for it to crack then I’ll replace it!
