Puma air conditioning switches.
Hi New 2008 Puma XS owner here, my 1995 TDI committed suicide in December!

Quick question, this has two air-conditioning switches. One top left of binnacle the other bottom between heated seats switches.

Is this normal? If so what do they do?

Thanks in advance.

The lower one turns on the A/C. The upper one has filled what is normally a blank and suggests that the previous owner has re-purposed a switch for something else. Do you have spotlights, by any chance? If so, it could the isolator for them. Darren

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

Nope no spotlights (yet).

I shall have to try and investigate.

In the manual was a card with a couple of fuses and a note that said "if no A/C it'll be the fuse!"....

Hi,

The bottom one kicks in the A/C clutch so that appears correct.

The top one appears as yet to do nothing? Except the LED illuminates.

Is a Kenlowe style electric fan normal in front of the radiator? It doesn't look like an original part... I am wondering if the previous owner installed this?

If it looks like this then yes, it's the A/C condenser fan:

If the button doesn't do anything obvious then the only solution would be to trace the wiring. The previous owner's fuse warning is a bit suspect though, and suggests an unresolved problem Confused Darren

Hi,

Yup, that's it.

I will have to start unscrewing stuff! It's time anyway..... just to see what I have.

Thanks for all the assistance.
