Did you clear the DTC from the ECM?
Have you checked the MAP sensor?

If you have a lack of power in 6th gear, and possibly a rough idle (especially when cold after start up) it may be that the VCV needs replacing.
Do you have any idea how old the VCV is, and or do you get either of the above symptoms with it?

As you mentioned aftermarket boost pipework etc, as LRA mentioned there could be a leak.
Check the pipe below the turbo that it isn’t worn on the steering components also.

Lightly lube your turbo actuator linage whilst you are there, but I’d definitely clear the DTC from the ECM and keep a record of the DTC which you have on here.

The silicone hoses could well be suspect, you may have a very small leak. Check the hole clamps are not loose also and for obvious cracks or splits. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Cleared DTC
New genuine MAP sensor fitted
Most pipework are silicon reinforced but not all. I am looking to see where i still have weaker rubber this weekend.
I don't have any lack of power in any gear under normal function. What was happening was under boost in all gears no DTC code until 60 or 70mph in 6th gear and the EML would indicate and the engine would go into limp mode. Last time it happened I pulled straight over, with engine running, I cleared the code and it hasn't gone again since despite my best efforts to recreate the offending moment.
So no current DTC's (pending or otherwise)
Weird. Shocked

Hi, I am having the exact same issue. Intermittent fault at 60-70 in 6th gear and unable to replicate. Did you manage to get to the bottom of it?
Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy

So, having changed just about everything to no avail I replaced an elbow intercooler pipe down low in the engine bay (passenger side of block) which was one of my remaining rubber hoses. I also removed the OEM air filter and replaced with a upgraded K&N filter. I have no idea if the fault was caused by the choking dense air filter for the better breathing K&N or if there was a tear/nibble in the rubber hose. But it was one of them and after a few trips it seemed to reset and has been brillient ever since. Good news, its the cheapest products that solved the problem. Although the elbow intercooler hose was a Censored to fit (but you dont have to dismantle everything to fit it but you will need olive oil to get your hand back Laughing )

Hope that helps Andy

That’s great news thank you. That hose is still rubber on mine but others are silicone so will give it a bash, and also the air filter 🤞🏼

Sometimes the filters get damp, purely by atmospherics.
They are supposed to be replaced every 2 years, but I think that one year is more sensible.
It also doesn’t do any harm to have a quick hoover out of the airbox base every 6 months, only in the summer you can get insects such as Wasps, Bees, Flies, hedge debris, hay, straw, tree debris and all sorts in the bottom of it, and that’s on top of dust and airborne particles.

In effect from the moment you fit a new one, as soon as the engine is running it starts its cycle of air filter contamination.
My only concern with oiled air filters is, air filter oil contamination of the MAF, and I also don’t think they are as easy to clean as made out.
I think they do increase performance, but at the cost of further contamination ingestion.
It’s hard to say, I just stick to Genuine of Bosch filters regularly changed.

I’ve often been tempted by ITG’s as well, but, I’ve just had my doubts and found it easier and faster just to swap for new.
But that’s just me, I’d like to see a more free flowing, but catch just as many particulates disposable filter really, the LR offering does get restrictive after a while once it does get contaminated. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️
