Crazy prices! Only a couple on AT and the LR Approved site. One is over £80k inc VAT on LR so guess they’re asking what they think they can get. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

Was in my local dealer last week, the salesman was quoting anything from 9 to 18 months delivery depending on model.
He showed me a 110 on a 70 plate that listed for £83k last year which they had just sold at the asking price of £99995 with 10,000 miles on it. He said that they had a lot of customers who didn't want to wait for a new one and were prepared to pay the current asking prices... I made my excuses and left! 2015 Defender 90XS HT |

Very tempted to do a deal with the dealer - let them have it to sell on at a greatly inflated price in return for a hefty discount on a new one and go to the back of the queue.
Interestingly I was chatting about it with a mate who works for JLR. I said "I'll wait 18 months for a new one" to which he replied "that's when the super dooper one comes out" And that's all he said on the matter. Make of that what you will.... https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews |

That sounds like a great idea Ben, money for nothing and every chance you'll get one with a few gremlins ironed out. What's not to like?

But you also run the risk of getting a rejected car that some lazy dealership hasn’t bothered to rectify the faults on………. They are trying to maximize their greed after all so why would they fix a car that still has makers warranty on it. So.... it has arrived at the dealers.
First question - do I wait 3 weeks to collect it to get it on the 22 plate (head says yes, child mind says get it now)? Second question - do I flip it and make some cash or keep it? I know it's all very subjective but I'm basically just wanting someone to tell me to get it asap and enjoy it. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews |

We picked the Mrs 110 as soon as it arrived as she couldn’t wait even though she’s still waiting for her licence to be re-issued after a medical problem

Well VAT quarter is end of this month so I’d have to wait another 3 months to get the VAT back….
Think I’m just going to get it now and keep it. Will be keeping this one until an electric alternative launches anyway and can’t currently reorder this spec even if I wanted to flip this one. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews |

Can the dealer invoice you for the defender on the 28th Feb but register it on the 1st march so you can still claim the VAT back for this current quarter?
Be quite nice to have the new reg on it although in the long run I don't suppose it matters a great deal. 2015 Defender 90XS HT |
