It's rare you can give an objective response in a forum, but here you go:

I can't find a way to filter for just New Defenders, or differentiate between 90s/110s. But there were precisely 276 X-Dynamic S Diesels registered in the UK in Q3 last year.

You can try the DoT source data:

Latest UK Registrations - grand total 9,992 (normal qualification on original dataset):

So that's 26 V8s out there!

There's 1,296 hard tops, 64% in base spec, 6% in S spec, 21% SE spec & 9% HSE spec.

Split for all new Defenders is 82.85% diesel, 17.15% petrol.

MHEVs are 49.07% overall but last quarter was 86.08% & PHEVs are 0.33% with last quarter being 0.42%.

Look at the periods the figures are for, they do lag significantly. When did they get theirs registered?

Cheshire 110 has had a black one and now silver.

Interesting to note that the P400 XS is also a rare beast. Given up on mine.

6am today I parked on the edge of an airport short stay car park and walked on the pedestrian walkway through to the terminal - just within sight each side of the path I counted 11 x 110’s and a solitary 90. This was just in the outside car park - probably more of them in the multi-storey and long stay car parks. Plenty of Evoques and DiscoSports but few Full Fats, RRS or Full Fat Discoveries of any model and not a single previous gen Defender. Getting way too common, but shows just how popular the new Defender is 2.5 years after sales started.

Good to know the new Defender is popular, but the 90 is still a wee bit rarer, my experience is the full fat RR and RRS are normally in the multi- storey.

Over here in Snowy Germany,

I found one 90 and one 110 in a dealer (out of 4 dealers) and then yesterday as I was while i was cruising up the A3 (around 230 kph) I had to slow down as i saw transporter with 5 Defenders, 3 x 90 and 2 x 100.

Highlight of my year ! Pity I still have a year to wait ! Big Cry

There are quite a few around the Brisbane area but the real reason they are still rare is you just can't get one.

A 12 month wait puts people off to, I'm sure (I have a 90 pre ordered, not expected until December).

The other big issue in Oz is whilst the brand is seen as Luxury, the all conquering off-road reputation has gone. There is a long list of brands ahead of LR now. Reasons for this? An appalling reliability reputation linked with poor service/support by LR Australia.

Agree the wait times for Oz are abysmal, but I hear from some Toyo owners that the
LC300 has just a long wait list.. I have found since living in Oz that people are pretty
tribal around their vehicle loyalty holden v ford, LC v Patrol (nearly bought a patrol many
years ago until I heard the locals named it the hand grenade). North Queensland hardly see any,
Sydney quite a few and there is a healthy community on the Australian FB owners group going
Bush with them, no chat about 22” or LED underbody lighting yet another pommie bar steward down under

Here in Bulgaria we see quite a few new defenders, definitely more new than classic. The classic defender has never been popular here. Defender 110 SW MY2011 2.4tdci decat, no EGR

It's all quite relative though if these are your annual sales figures:

At least four around me in Melbourne’s outer northeast. All 110s. All different colour combos.

Drove 350 miles around Mid Wales yesterday didn't see a single one from 6, am till 10.pm.

Plenty of 110s 90s even series too numerous to count.
