Does anyone have the LED backlit billet door handles that are available from Defender upgrades? (manufactured by Design development eng.)
Has anyone got a pair or seen them in the flesh? What is the finish like? The pictures look to have a media blasted finish as opposed to the smooth machined finish you would get from Optimill. I'm a bit OCD and want my billet parts to match but not keen on the Optimill handles https://defenderupgrades.co.uk/product/lan...ack-light/ 1989 90 4.3 V8 2012 L405 OF 2014 D4 HSE Lux (SOLD) 2015 90 HT (SOLD) @d9o.mf |

I've got the croytec billet handles on mine - they're about as OEM as you can get (they used them on the 70th models).
I went keyless entry as an extra security feature (not that they can't still break in with a blunt spoon ) Click image to enlarge |

Not sure why you don't like the Optimil ones.
I fitted keyless (slight security improvement) Optimil ones and I'm really happy with them. It a bu**er of a job to reattach the linkage from the handle to the lock. Once you've done it a few times you're qualified for any key-hole surgery. |

Croytec for me too as they match the originals and yes a PITA to fit! Andy

Fitting the optimill keyless ones together with the door pulls tomorrow, hopefully it wont be a total PITA, still my friendly mechanic Roy 5965 will be supervising (doing the work)

Mine were from Gareth at Defender Upgrades but are identical to the croytec ones so imagine they are actually the same thing. Suli: Tell Roy he needs his dainty tools out as it’s a bit fiddly but nothing too taxing! |

I’ve already fitted 4 to mine so I’m fully aware they can be a pain. Hopefully Simons aren’t cold welded in like mine were.
If all else fails it won’t be my landy without functioning handles 🤷♂️😂 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html Instagram - @r22oyp Roy |

Just so you can all sleep well tonight and not worry about my door handles both were fitted from start to finish in a total of 2 hrs
Obviously my spanner handing to Roy5695 helped in this super fast fitting time The door handles weren’t the only Optimill items fitted today either. 2015 HT XS 90 2008 SVX 90 2000 XS TD5 90 |

Could you share some pictures of your handles CO1?
I would have gone for the croytec ones but the back lit option from def upgrades is calling to me 1989 90 4.3 V8 2012 L405 OF 2014 D4 HSE Lux (SOLD) 2015 90 HT (SOLD) @d9o.mf |

I’m not at home at the moment, but they are identical to the ones posted by X4CAC.
