Are puma hub/drive flange bolt holes blind?

Or are they through holes? I’ve got one to drill out and re-tap, but don’t have a finishing tap so will need to get one if necessary.

They are blind.

I suggest you use a left hand drill, if you do it is likely that you'll get the broken fragment out without damaging the thread.

If it needs retapping you're better off Helicoiling.

As blackwolf said.

Can use the drive member to center the drill. Ideally use a sleeve in the drive member hole and use a smaller drill bit, but you could get the V just started with a drill same size as the drive member bolt hole, and then switch to smaller drill bit. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Cheers gents. I’ve bored out a 10mm cap head with a 6.5mm drill (any bigger and the wall thickness was a bit suspect!), so I’ll send that through first and then work up to tapping size.
