I have a recurring fault code P0113 which began with a split intercooler and appears now to be coincidental with that incident (maybe?)
My original thread is as follows; https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic81269.html I have looked at other similar issues from other members and I have noted a couple resolved the same way. "A loose connection on the LH side of the gearbox." Does anyone know what this refers to or have an alternative theory? The Defender is a 2013 2.2TDCI and the latest test run (20 mins) with cleared fault codes was successful but on later startup showed amber EML and P0113. The biggest puzzle for me on this one is that it takes 20 mins of driving or more before the fault registers. If it was electrical, such as a connector or the loom harness, wouldnt it be instant?
Ive been looking at replacement loom harnesses as I have changed pretty much everything else. Not sure of the best supplier for this and costs are all over the place. Still working on it |

If it was electrical, such as a connector or the loom harness, wouldn't it be instant?
not always heat and cold can have play part in components failing as MAF use heating element and current used as means measuring air flow and also heat in copper conductor's changes residents and current and will also have play in cable insulation braking down |

Interesting. Once I cleared of the fault codes, I did allow the engine to warm up fully before I took it out to test, which came back without fault. It only produced the code again once I restarted after it had fully cooled down the day after.

Turns out the brand new OEM MAF was faulty. A different fault to the original MAF. One was air mass the other air temp. Another new MAF has sorted it.

glad you fixed it.
So infuriating when new parts are faulty. What you really need in these situations is a local friend with an identical spec car, which you can borrow/swap known working parts from. Obviously this is not an easy thing to find, and even if you do have such a friend, they may not want you to dismantle their car to fault find on yours! |

I would never encourage a friend to own one....they wouldnt be my friend for long
