nearly 2 years ago, i replaced mine, with a yusa battery from halfords, It was the most heavy duty they did and was longer than the standard. Which was the exactly the same battery my dad bought months before. So both defenders fire over no trouble at all.

I too replaced the battery with a Yuasa one but it failed after 18 months or so, it was still within the warranty and Halfords replaced it without any argument.
I think though that a trickle charger is a good idea if you are not using the vehicle regularly. I bought a small solar charger and it makes no significant impact on battery charge when it is not being used! A decent sized solar charger though might be worthy of consideration though. |

ln Australia you get sunshine every day, meaning a solar panel will be a great solution Not that l am envious or anything |

I have a 100W solar panel on the roof. If I didn't have some permanently powered accessories running in the truck it would be more than capable of keeping the battery topped off. In the summer it generates enough to run my fridge and keep my laptop and phone charged indefinitely
