Well, two things - first its lucky you told us you got the speeding ticket for going too fast or we would have been wondering!!

Second - I always knew a speed bump would lead to an accident one day. There you are, driving along with your mind totally on something else, hit a speed bump and BOOM!

On a serious note, I pity anyone who feels they must end their life, but to want to end the lives of others at the same time is despicable really- but then I suppose you aren't really in a stable state of mind. Unless this was a terrorist incident in which case I would say we have a result!

PS, did you get the ticket in your land rover? If you did you were probably as surprised as the guy with the vest! I got a speeding ticket in Germany for driving a SIII 109 too fast - now that took some doing πŸ˜…

my guess is it was a terrorist - not aware of too many incidents involving exploding vests other than perhaps in South America. so yep, I see that as a result.

reference the speeding ticket - I was in the tranny. And I was a little gutted (perhaps not as much as the exploding guy I refer to above). I was in a 60 doing 52 (keeping the economy up) when I get the sun in my eyes and can barely see where I'm going let alone see the 40 mph sign. I see the speed camera......and then the 40 mph sign after if but too late by then. speeding ticket in the post. Sad

last speeding tickets were in 1996 in my escort cosworth. Whistle
and 2005 in my factory built Caterham superlight doing 82 in a 70. turns out the car left the factory with an incorrectly calibrated speedo Sad

Germany for driving a SIII 109 too fast - now that took some doing πŸ˜…

I presume it was down hill ? Very Happy

Re the speeding ticket, it Censored even more when Avis charged me a service fee for paying the ticket that was as expensive as the ticket itself. That was Avis NL... doing 55 in a 50 zone (kph not miles). I can probably trigger the cameras on a bicycle. Banging Head 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Can anyone beat getting done for 34mph in a 30 mph limit?
Even worse, the 30 limit was only for a roundabout, 50 before, 40 afterwards.

Perhaps the exploding vest dude just had a battery issue with his mobile phone (or worse, heart pacemaker). We shouldn't be too quick to judge! Rolling with laughter

How about 34 in a 30 at 06:00 on a Sunday morning going into the back end of a village without a house in site!

Caterham, i was busted for speeding in 2020, in the Peugeot 306, I have owned two very fast metros in the past, and i get busted in a 306 Diesel that i have had for 15 years Laughing
I was going down hill at the time and got up to 35 mph in a 30.
laugh was i just put the Peugeot back on the road the day before, ( fitted a replacement rear beam for the MOT)
I decided to do the speed awareness course. Which was would have been a year just gone there funny enough. Shocked Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it!

53kph in a 50kph zone, really strict here in Luxembourg but you don’t get points and the fine is very low.

52kph in a 50kph zone, 40 buck fine. It's just another form of random taxation! Roaming around πŸ‡³πŸ‡΄πŸ‡¨πŸ‡

Same as.... donkies years ago, I got a ticket for speeding in a 2.25 109" S3 (ex mil). I wasn't going to argue as I knew that the rear tyres might have beem... ahem... slightly balding... took the ticket and dissapeared!
