Well having a chat with the Mrs about our order, I said I'd be tempted to cancel if the pivi screen is now only 10" rather than the 11" like we specified, I know it's not massive but it's an erosion of spec, already, no interactive dash, no matrix so the spec seems to be diminishing but no reduction in price.
Anyway she said would i consider the Disco commercial. So priced it up to the same spec as close as I could to the Defender. My current order is for a 110 SE HT. So before discount this is how is stands up Disco Commercial R Dynamic HSE + £9K Disco Commercial R Dynamic SE. + £8K Disco Commercial SE. +£1K The spec doesn't exactly cross over but I couldn't see the Clearsight mirror available anywhere on any commercial Disco. So I'm now really torn. I love the look of the Defender and just like the look of the Disco. But would I hate myself for jumping to the Disco? Would it be a decision that I'd regret? 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

I think you may regret it, not that the D5 is bad, I’ve owned one of them too. The Defender just has that certain something. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

@J77, that was my thinking. I'd end up loving the D5 but in the back of my mind there would always be a niggle that the Defender would be a better car 110 D250 SE HT

I agree on all but the first statement. If I could buy a new one with all the features I wanted then fine, but at the moment it's a case of several of those features not being available, and no guarantee of when they will be, or what other features would be missing from the vehicle that actually arrives. You're right, the Defender does have that certain something. And one loaded with the features I want would be the preference. But at the moment for me, given the choice of having a nicely loaded Disco that I'd drive for a couple of years, or a Defender with the naff two-thirds cut analogue dials, and other bits missing, I decided on the Disco to be that stopgap vehicle. In a couple of years time I'll very likely change to a Defender, as it is does have that certain something. Just at the moment, for me, that certain something includes a lot of features I want, not being present. Defender 90 HSE 250D 2022MY - Gave up after two failed orders |

I think that the problem will come in 3/4 years time when folk try to sell or trade in their cars for new ones only to be offered well below book price due to trying to sell a “Covid car”
Just my thoughts.. Jim |

Based on that I should have my car about now.
On the plus side the cost of a new P400 XS 110 with a few extras appears to be really cheap when considering other options. |

Confirmation that my x dynamic hse p400e is due for build end April 23 and I should have it by end of May. Ordered late Sept 21, Original order was cancelled and re ordered as a 23my. This means I will have a p400e xs coming up for sale, santorini black full xs spec and deployable tow bar with 11.4 screen. Likely have 4000 miles on the clock by April.

Well it looks as if my wait could nearing its end.
I had an e mail from the dealership on Monday informing me that my car should be with them on 27th June. So I guess that it will be ready to collect first week of July? I’ve just been on Go Compare and full comp protected no claims is coming in at around £350 per year with the AA. Let’s hope that it lives up to my expectations eh? Jim |

I received update 4 this afternoon for Land Rover and my car has finally arrived at the dealership.
In a strange twist LR have been unable to supply the luxury carpet set and rubber boot liner. The dealer has offered to to source a set but warned that they would be expensive…..🧐 I was told that the vehicle would be available from the 6th July onwards so I have asked for a collection slot on the 6th.
