2015 MY Remote Key Fob Replacement/Repair
Hi,

I have a 2015 (65 plate) Defender. Unfortunately, one of the remote key fobs is failing. It never had such good range as the other one, and now it takes loads of attempts to get it to work. It seems to work slightly better with a brand new battery, but not for long. I have tried cleaning the battery contacts and microswitches with contact cleaner, but to no avail.

I understand that it is not as easy to replace the key fobs on the 2015 Defenders, due to a change in the security system, and apparently it may even require replacement of the "security module", at considerable cost. However, I was wondering if anyone knew the following:
- Is what I've said true? Can these keys not be replaced without replacing this "security module"?
- If yes, does anyone know of anybody who is able to repair these keys? Most places seem to only go up to 2012 MY.

Thanks for your help.

Derek.
