2005 TD5 110
Can someone let me know if anyone has tried the <£100 kits on eBay and if they’re any good. I don’t need anything serious heavy duty. Here’s my current issue: Here’s and example of the kit is tempted to get, will it fit and will they last? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LANDROVER-DEFEN...1763507420 Thanks in advance. |

Yes I have that very kit on Miffy. It is now four years old and doing just fine. Covered approx. 20-30k miles and no clunks.

Can you link me to the Brit part one piece ones please? I’m struggling to identify the ones I need.

assuming your picture is the rear just get some series 1 discovery rear shafts, these are 1 piece and fit perfectly, I have had some for several years in mine with no issues, I dont off road but lots of old Discos do without issue mine cost £10. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,
I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

It's worth noting that Discovery half shafts are the same as those used on 90's but are thinner than those used on 110's. The difference will be to accommodate the weight of the vehicle (and hence the loads transmitted through the drivetrain) rather than the usage. I know that some folks use them on 110's but I personally wouldn't risk it.
Despite the completely warranted scepticism about using Britpart stuff, their one piece half shafts seem to get good reviews, or rather there aren't lots of failure reports. l fitted Britpart driveshafts and drive members to my 110. So far they've done over 80,000 miles and are still okay.
l've greased the splined connection a couple of times, not sure if it should be greased or left dry but as l said, they've done over 80,000 miles so it can't be doing any harm. |

A quick search gave this as the first result, although their may be cheaper suppliers. It gives the part numbers for a wider search, though: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LANDROVER-DEFEN...3.l4275.c1 Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? These are the exact ones I ordered for my 2002 TD5 110 and I've run them for about a year now with no issues (they have a bit of surface rust but I forgot to paint the ends before I fitted them, will sort it when its a bit warmer).
