Ok,
I know this is a constant subject of debate, but just wondering where we are at on Sun 16 Jan 2023. What is the general consensus for the best replacement for a standard 110 Puma, non ABS vented front brake set up. By standard I mean NON BBK. I’ll be doing the following: New copper brake pipes Goodrich braided lines Caliper deep clean SS piston and seal replacement New fluid New Mintex pads Etc etc So what discs/rotors are we favouring these days? Solid vented? Mintex, Delphi? Slotted/dimpled vented? Which brand? Britpart, Bearmach, Brembo, EBC? Terrafirma Wavy slotted/dimpled vented? If so, why? Or do I just buy a LOF kit? Which seems to come with a lot of stuff I’m not sure I need? Any thoughts appreciated Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

I did my 110 with the LOF kit, made life so much easier. On reflection I would have gone with the Power Spec kit over the road spec.

I did my 110 Puma (with ABS, vented front) using LOF POWERspec pads & discs (+ bearings)
Calipers (blast cleaned and painted) were overhauled using Zeus Eng. SS Pistons + SS bleed nipples all the flexi hoses were made up by Pioneer 4X4 direct from hard metal line to the calipers and the long lines that run acoss the rear axle Can recomend Zeus, Pioneer and LOF - The guy who did the calipers, not so (the work and finish was great, the return packcing and complaint service ) Zaid-M www.DefencePhotos.com 2014 Defender 110 Utility, 2.2 Puma, Indus Silver Not just transport more like a religion |

EBC slotted discs with yellow stuff pads was a very noticeable upgrade for me on the 110 over the stock combo. The yellow stuff pads don't work when cold as they are a street/race compound, so you need to put some heat in them when you set off. However, I never once experienced brake fade like I was previously with the stock setup - I regularly hooned on quiet back roads
I would highly suggest braided brake lines though if you go a "performance" route. Whenever I dug deep with the brake pedal I could feel the stock lines expanding, was incredibly spoungy feeling and unpleasant. These are my thoughts as of January 16th. I have the same setup on my 130 except now with green stuff pads, but it's not finished yet... Couldn’t pay me to ever use EBC pads in any car, i had a set of green stuff explode in my calipers a few years ago in my other car. Useless when cold, not great when hot IMO.
