Happy to report that the Scorpion winters are excellent tires. Better than Nokians on dry pavement, and yet still highly capable on snow and ice. I don’t see any need to switch back to Nokians as these are excellent snow tires.

Went to collect my road tyres today after the dealership fitted the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tyres 255/60/R20. Picking it up on Tuesday with snow forecasted for my area can’t wait to drive it Very Happy

So what are people's thoughts on the Adventure vs DuraTrac. I've placed an order for a 2021 110 and although I currently have is spec'd with Off Roads (the Adventure), I suspect I can change to the DuraTrac.

I live in the NY city area.

You can't change it. They will only ship with the Adventures out of Slovakia, once they get here you can ask your dealer to install Duratracs - but you'll pay full price, no discounts. Might as well get them from a cheaper tire shop, which is where the dealer ultimately gets the Duratracs from. I suspect part of the reason is the Q (99 mph max) speed rating of the Duratracs. LR wants no liability, since their advertised max speed of the Defender is quite a bit higher than that.

The Adventures are fine - not exactly hardcore A/Ts, but perfectly suitable for anything that doesn't have sharp rocks (they have tender sidewalls- but so do the Duratracs) or very slippery surfaces requiring lots of bite and grip (due to their relatively tame tread design.) On the plus side, they are whisper quiet and quite comfortable on pavement, not giving up much in handling compared to a good all-season, street-only tire. If most of your driving is on road without harsh winters, and your off-roading doesn't involve too much rock crawling, mud plugging and deep snow/ice skating, you may actually like them. 2020 NAS Defender 110 HSE 5-seater / Silver / Khaki / Black Pack / Black Roof / Satin Film / Cold Pack / Off-Road Pack / Advanced OR Pack / Comfort + Convenience Pack / Sirius + HD radio / HUD / Meridian Surround

Speaking to the dealer and perusing the forums here, the Adventure tyres (though M&S rated) are not suitable for any mountainous/inclined driving, such as going to a ski resort.
Hazardous at best, suicidal at worst.

Seems that you can get away with lighter snow and relatively flat terrain.

JLR here in Japan are doing a winter tyre campaign and mainly using Nokian.
Specifically the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 SUV. I will get these installed next month.

2 sizes available:
255/70/R18
275/55/R20

It's in Japanese but you get the gist.

Got the Conti Winters on 18' for second winter season now.
Great performance on dry, wet and snow.
Did not have icy road conditions yet, winter road service performing really good where I live.

What about the Cooper AT3 KO2. If I remember well it has the snow-mountain symbol too. 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history)

So the dealer messed up.
Ended up fitting Dunlop Wintermaxx SJ8+.
265/55R20.

I’ve been incredibly impressed.
We’ve had ridiculous amounts of snow in Japan. 2 days a go we had 105cm in 24 hours (Nozawa onsen ski resort)

Tyres dealt with ice, snow, slush, the lot.
Auto mode in TR. Extremely sure footed and stable.
