For vehicles with matrix lights, what have people done with auxiliary high/driving lights?
I guess you can’t really wire them up to be on when the high beams are on because they would be left on when the car is “shadowing” oncoming traffic etc. I guess you really just have to have them manually switched? Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Thanks for the advice guys - meant to report back.
I’ve got in touch with Lazer and they’re going to come back with some more technical info. My main question is what happens with the “matrix” lights - does the CAN module trigger when only high beams are active with 100% coverage? Or would you blind oncoming traffic with auxiliary lights, when the car’s high beams are doing their clever “shadowing” of specific objects? Be interesting to see what Lazer come back with as I quite like the look of their LINEAR-18 ELITE WITH I-LBA which has the oncoming traffic detection and I have Matix lights. If you watch the video below you can see when he jumps into the vehicle he activates a rocker switch (and then appears to drive round and round in circles to get to Coniston, which anybody who knows the Lake District will spot ) but it's not apparent if the Defender he is in has Matrix lights.

Click image to enlarge I’ve fitted a Lazer lamps linear 18 elite to my22 110 with matrix led‘s. Ive hardwired the light at the moment and I’ve got the canbus box but I’m just waiting on the wireless reader so I don’t have to cut into the canbus wires. I‘m hoping to get it fitted in the next week or two and I’ll report back. |

Lazer say that the CANbus module can’t really handle the matrix beams, so you’re have to disable the matrix functionality and use hi/lo beams manually if you wanted to fit auxiliary lights, or switch them yourself.
As I expected really; not the end of the world… Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |
